Coronavirus - Previous Updates

Updated: Nov 1, 2020

Please note, this is an old article. Please visit here for our latest updates on coronavirus.

27/07/2020

Podiatry & Wellness Clinic is open and, as always, our top priority is the health and safety of our patients.

We are currently offering all podiatry and reflexology treatments, as well as limited massage, acupuncture and physiotherapy treatments. Please contact us if you would like to book and to find out if we are currently offering the treatment you require.

We are following strict cleaning policies for the protection of both our staff and patients, and each member of staff maintains rigorous personal hygiene standards, as well as using new gloves for every patient interaction. Full PPE is worn by all staff members, including face masks. We use disinfectants across the whole clinic to ensure a safe and clean environment. After each use, all medical instruments receive the highest level of medical sterilization available.

We have changed our booking structure to leave larger gaps between patients to minimise face-to-face contact, and to allow even deeper cleaning measures when necessary. All of our patients are triaged before attending their appointment, and we are also asking them to wait outside until their designated appointment time, at which point we will allow them into the waiting room as long as they are wearing a mask. Hand sanitiser is also being offered to each patient upon entering and leaving the clinic.

Please do not attend our clinic if you have a new continuous cough, a high temperature, a change to your sense of smell or have recently been in contact with anyone with Covid-19. For more details about Covid-19, please visit the official NHS website.

Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or if you would like to book an appointment.

UPDATE 13/04/2020

We are continuing to follow government and College of Podiatry guidelines, and are only seeing patients for emergency podiatry issues, such as severe foot pain, infections & ingrown toenails. Contact us now if you need to book an emergency appointment.

If you are concerned, need advice or just want a chat about your footcare then please call the clinic as Lorraine is more than happy to give professional and friendly advice over the phone.

UPDATE 31/03/2020

Following on from my message to you all a few days ago, I have had many enquiries from people requiring urgent footcare/treatment, therefore I have now decided to open my Polegate clinic 1 day a week for patients with emergency issues.

Following strict guidelines, I will only be accepting appointments from people who deem their foot problems as urgent or who are in pain and need treatment. I will continue with the same procedures as mentioned previously in regard to Covid-19. (Please see below)

If you have any questions or would like to speak to me about your foot problems, please don’t hesitate to contact me.

UPDATE 24/03/2020:

Please read the following message from Lorraine:

"To all my lovely patients,

As a podiatrist, I am classified as a key worker, and due to the current circumstances, I will only be seeing patients who have urgent foot issues. I will be working from my Polegate clinic until the end of this month but only when I have an emergency patient booked in. I will be keeping the front door locked until my patient arrives, at which point I will then let them in and offer them hand sanitiser. No more than one patient will be allowed in the clinic at one time. This is to allow minimal face-to-face contact, and more time for cleaning the clinic in-between patients. I will be wearing a mask and gloves at all times.

I will be temporarily closing the clinic at the end of this month and from then on, I will be offering home visits only to those with urgent foot problems.

It’s a very difficult time for us all and I wish all my patients the best. I am only a phone call away if anyone needs any advice with their footcare. We WILL get through this worrying time and I look forward to seeing all my patients again in the near future.

Please don’t hesitate to call me if you have any concerns.

Take care.

Lorraine x"

Please note that podiatrists, Jane and Aaron, will not be offering treatments at this time. We will of course keep everybody up to date via our website and social media over the next few weeks. Please call or email us if you have any concerns.

The current government advice in regard to the coronavirus is for us to carry on as normal with our patients who do not have symptoms or have not recently travelled abroad to the list of countries in the guidance. Please click here for the full list of destinations.

So we are open as normal until told otherwise but to stay in line with the guidelines, we are now asking our patients not to visit any of our clinics if they have recently visited any ‘Category 1’ or ‘Category 2’ country.

Also, if you have any symptoms of Covid 19, including breathlessness, coughing or a high temperature, then we strongly advise that you stay at home and contact your doctor.

If you need to cancel an appointment with us then please email us at podiatrywellnessclinic@gmail.com or call 01323 301480.

In the meantime, we ask that you follow the advice given by the NHS to reduce your risk of catching or spreading the infection. Click here for more information.
